“The Alliance”

The organization formerly known as The Continuum of Care for the City and County of Racine, U.A. is now THE HOMELESSNESS and HOUSING ALLIANCE OF RACINE COUNTY or “The Alliance”. The name change was one of the recommendations that resulted from strategic planning. The mission has not changed and the new name reflects its mission. There were 3 initiatives recommended at its January meeting that also resulted from strategic planning. Plans are in place to introduce these initiatives to the public in the near future. Planns are also in the works for a new logo design and website.

Thank you Doug!  We used a lot of paper.

We have concluded our strategic planning sessions – 15 hours! Many thanks to Doug Gundlach for volunteering his time and expertise to guide us through this process, Siena Center for hosting us, and Sr. Chris Braslovick for helping us make this possible. Join us January 18 at 9am at United Way of Racine County when we present our recommendations. We need your input and participation!

From Holly Anderle:

On the day of the Longest Night of the year, December 21st it has become a tradition to lift up our voices to God in prayer for our brothers and sisters who are experiencing homelessness and other types of loss. We focus our thoughts on those for whom the cold and dark are all too real, too painful, and often very threatening. While we are grateful that we will only be reading the name of one person who passed away this year while homeless, we recognize that even one is still too many and there is still so much work to do! Our service begins at 12:00 noon at Living Faith Lutheran Church (Formerly Atonement), 2915 Wright Ave. Please come join us this Wednesday and light a candle in the darkness to help them light their way home. #CoC #ContinuumofCareRacine #ShelterForAll #ThisIsOurFamily
